About Us

We appreciate your choice of our office to meet you dental needs. We know that there are many options available to you, and we look forward to the opportunity to provide you with the kind of advanced dental care you expect from us. Our philosophy of care is simple: we treat your family as if they were our own. We believe this “Golden Rule” approach to dentistry is best for everyone. We are very sensitive to any fear or apprehension you may have as the result of a previous negative experience, and we will take all the time necessary to ensure your comfort and confidence.

We are a family-oriented practice that treats patients of all ages in a comfortable and welcoming environment. We specialize in all aspects of dentistry including but not limited to orthodontics, endodontics (root canals), implants, Invisalign, oral surgery (tooth removal) and non-surgical periodontics (gum treatments).

In 1994, Doctors Jay and Janice Cazes moved to the Long Valley area. At that time, Dr. Jay joined the Sparta Dental Associates team sharing the responsibility of patient care with Doctors Caruso and Parker.

In 1995, Doctors Cazes opened Cazes Family Dentistry in Long Valley. As their home office and family grew it became increasingly harder for Dr. Jay to work in both locations.  In 1996 Dr. Jay left Sparta Dental Associates to concentrate his time on Cazes Family Dentistry and helping to raise his family.  In 2016, as Doctors Caruso and Parker considered retirement they reached out to Doctors Jay and Janice as dentists they trusted to take over the care of their patients.  Now as empty nesters, Doctors Jay and Janice welcomed the opportunity to come full circle and resume the care of patients at Sparta Dental Associates.  In the spring of 2017 working side by side, Doctors Caruso and Parker transitioned their practice over to Doctors Jay and Janice.

Our goal is to create a friendly environment where people could come and become not only patients, but part of our family. Doctors Jay and Janice met at Georgetown University School of Dentistry then went on to do hospital based general practice residencies. They have achieved prestigious Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry awards. In addition they have completed advanced training in orthodontics, implant dentistry, and root canal treatment. They currently teach at Morristown Memorial Hospital and at Practical Clinical Courses in Provo, Utah. The doctors are always looking at the latest techniques and procedures to provide state of the art care for their patients.

Doctors Jay and Janice have recently been awarded the distinction of a Mastership of Academy of General Dentistry. In order to achieve this honor, Doctors Cazes each had to complete over 1,100 hours of continuing education in all of the different areas of dentistry; with 400 of those hours specifically devoted to hands on training. This award is only achieved by approximately 1% of dentists in the world. As such, Sparta Dental Associates is able to provide comprehensive, quality dental care to patients of all ages without having to frequently refer people to other providers.
