Make Your Smile The Best It Can Be

Restoring both the appearance and health of your mouth, a dental bridge serves to close gaps by utilizing a false tooth, which receives support from dental implants, your existing natural teeth, or a combination thereof. Often referred to as a ‘fixed partial denture,’ these bridges are securely bonded or cemented to your teeth, eliminating the need for removal during sleep or cleaning. The significance of filling tooth gaps extends beyond aesthetics, encompassing the long-term oral health benefits. Missing teeth can impede speech, create difficulties in chewing, and allow neighboring teeth to shift positions.

The Advantages of Dental Bridges

Missing a tooth or teeth can significantly impact our confidence and well-being. Thankfully, a dental bridge offers an excellent solution to restore the normal appearance and comfort of our smile. Moreover, it provides long-term benefits by supporting the health of our remaining teeth and contributing to the strength of our jawbone. In conclusion, a dental bridge helps us achieve a natural smile and enhances the overall health of our teeth and mouth.

Effectiveness

Dental bridges offer immediate and obvious advantages. They restore a normal look and feel, allowing you to smile and eat confidently. With missing teeth, speaking and eating can be difficult or painful. Dental bridges provide a long-lasting solution, offering relief for over ten years with proper care.

Health of your teeth

Your teeth play a crucial role in supporting each other and maintaining the structure of your face. However, missing teeth can disrupt your bite and create gaps that allow other teeth to shift. Fortunately, a dental bridge effectively blocks teeth from shifting, reducing the risk of decay, periodontal disease, jaw pain, and TMJ disorder caused by misaligned teeth. By preserving dental alignment, a dental bridge promotes oral health and helps maintain overall well-being.

The health of your bones

Healthy and stable teeth play a vital role in promoting the health of our jawbones. As our dental health declines, it can negatively impact the well-being of the bone and tissues that support our teeth. However, by stabilizing your dental health with a dental bridge, you can effectively slow down the rate of bone loss associated with missing teeth. By preserving the integrity of your jawbone, a dental bridge contributes to overall oral health and well-being.

The Cost Of A Dental Bridge At Sparta

The cost of a dental bridge can vary significantly from patient to patient. With a typical insurance plan, the average cost ranges from $800 to $1200+ for a dental bridge. Without insurance, a reasonable estimate for a bridge would be around $2000 to $3000 and above.

Several factors contribute to determining the cost of a dental bridge, including:

  • Type of bridge and material used
  • Number of missing teeth to be replaced
  • Location and complexity of the procedure
  • Condition of the teeth adjacent to the gap
  • Supplies and equipment required for the treatment

Please note that it is not possible to provide an accurate quote over the phone as every patient’s needs and circumstances are unique. It is important to consult with a dentist and undergo an oral examination to explore all treatment options and receive an accurate cost estimate. If you have dental insurance, we are happy to provide you with a quote to submit to them, helping you determine your out-of-pocket expenses before making a decision.

Frequently Asked Questions

Dental bridges come in multiple types, including permanent and semi-permanent options. They are commonly known as fixed partial dentures due to their semi-permanent nature, as they are bonded to existing teeth or implants. Differentiating between a bridge and a denture is relatively simple: bridges consist of teeth only, while dentures feature pink gums in addition to the teeth. Bridges stay securely in place, whereas dentures are removable.

Cantilever bridges are utilized when there are no adjacent teeth on both sides of the gap caused by missing teeth. However, they have become less common and are not recommended for the posterior region of the mouth. This is because they can exert excessive force on neighboring teeth, potentially leading to damage. If you have missing teeth in the back of your mouth, there are alternative solutions available to address this situation.

Typically between 1-2 hours over 2 separate appointments.

A dental crown alone cannot serve as a replacement for a missing tooth. A crown is a dental cap that resembles a natural tooth, but it requires support from either a prepared existing tooth, a partial tooth with a post, or a dental implant positioned inside and beneath the gum line. This support system is necessary to ensure the stability and functionality of the crown.
