Best Candidates for Dentures

Did you know nearly 25% of adults over 65 have lost all their teeth? Dentures are a reliable, natural-looking solution for replacing missing teeth—so natural, in fact, you’ve likely spoken with someone wearing dentures without realizing it!

You might be a good candidate for dentures if you:

  • Need to replace several or all of your teeth
  • Do not smoke or use tobacco products
  • Have a healthy jawbone (we can help with this!)
  • Do not have chronic dry mouth
  • Are committed to caring for your dentures at home
  • Continue regular dental check-ups

How to Care for Your Dentures?

Proper denture care includes regular cleaning and routine dental visits. Even with perfect dentures, you should visit your dentist periodically. During your check-ups, we’ll ensure your dentures fit comfortably and examine your gums, tongue, jaw, and overall oral health. Your total oral wellness matters—not just your teeth!

At-home denture care tips:

  • Remove dentures overnight to rest your mouth.
  • Soak dentures in warm water or denture cleanser.
  • Avoid soaking dentures with metal clasps in solutions other than warm water.
  • Always keep dentures in water when not wearing them to avoid drying and warping.
  • Never use hot water for soaking.
  • Gently clean and massage your gums daily.
  • If a toothbrush irritates your gums, rinse it in warm water first or use a clean, damp cloth wrapped around your finger.
  • Continue brushing any remaining natural teeth regularly.

Cost of Dentures in Sparta

The cost of dentures in Sparta generally ranges from $900 to $3,500 or higher, depending on your specific needs. For example, full-mouth dentures typically cost between $1,800 and $3,500, while implant-supported dentures may average around $30,000.

Several key factors influence the final cost:

  1. Type of dentures (full, partial, or implant-supported)
  2. Any required tooth extractions or preliminary treatments
  3. Necessary X-rays and oral evaluations
  4. Choice to add supportive dental implants

Because every smile is unique, the best way to get an accurate estimate is through a personalized consultation. We’ll carefully evaluate your oral health, explain all available options clearly, and provide a customized treatment plan tailored specifically to you.

to schedule an initial consultation & exam.

Your consultation will include an examination of everything from your teeth, gums and soft tissues to the shape and condition of your bite. Generally, we want to see how your whole mouth looks and functions. Before we plan your treatment we want to know everything about the health and aesthetic of your smile, and most importantly, what you want to achieve so we can help you get there.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! Dental bridges are great for replacing one to three missing teeth, while dental implants can replace any number of missing teeth. Implants typically involve a higher upfront cost and have specific health criteria for eligibility.

With proper care, dentures usually last between 5 to 10 years. Over time, your oral structure changes, meaning you may eventually need a new set of dentures.

Yes, it’s best to remove dentures overnight to give your gums and jaw a rest and to keep dentures clean.

Upper dentures should create a secure suction, while lower dentures rest comfortably above your gums. Partial dentures should align and remain stable alongside your natural teeth. Implant-supported dentures securely snap into place. If your dentures feel loose or uncomfortable, schedule an appointment so we can adjust them for you.

While you can enjoy many foods comfortably, it’s best to be cautious with hard or sticky foods like caramel, carrot sticks, tough meats, popcorn, or seeded crackers, as they may cause discomfort or damage your dentures.

Just called to reschedule my daughters' appointments at SDA. One daughter needed to be seen immediately for a tooth issue, the other was due for cleaning which are normally booked much further out. The receptionist gave me HER appointment so they could both be seen on the same day. Above and beyond kindness.

The best!! So friendly, easy to talk to, and efficient. I was always scared of trying a new dentist since my previous was my uncle. I have moved too far away to continue going to his practice and I’m so glad I found this office :)
